FAQs with Ashley: Everything You Need to Know About Facial Injections and Skincare

I’m afraid of looking overdone. Will I still look like me after injections?

Yes!  Wrinkle relaxers and fillers can be very tastefully done and will be customized to you and your individual goals. You will still look like you, just a more youthful, well-rested, glowing version of you!

What is the best thing I can do for my skin?

Sunscreen (zinc), a good skincare routine (including products and monthly facials), and, of course, injectables!

How do you determine which filler(s) to use?

Fillers have different molecular sizes. Some are very soft, and others are firm. Where you put them and what you are trying to accomplish in that area will determine which one will be best for you.

What is the best eye cream you sell?

ZO Growth Factor Eye Serum

How long do fillers typically last?

Small-molecule fillers last a minimum of 6 months and typically up to 12 months, and larger-molecule fillers typically last from 18 months to up to 2 years.

Is there anything I can’t do after a wrinkle relaxer treatment?

I ask that you do not work out or lay down for 4 hours after the treatment.

Are fillers safe for me?

Yes! Fillers are synthetic gels made of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally occurring in the body. All the fillers I use can be dissolved if necessary.

Should I do wrinkle relaxers or fillers?

BOTH! Wrinkle relaxers help smooth/prevent lines by relaxing the muscle movement that causes resting lines, and fillers help fill in deeper lines and can also augment, contour, and plump different parts of the face.

Does Kybella® really work?

Yes! Kybella works well if you treat to completion (most people need 2-4 consecutive treatments to get optimal results).

What is your favorite product?

Alastin Hydratint (tinted sunscreen with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide)

What filler will give me the most bang for my buck?

Midface. Restoring lost volume in the midface will not only bring back your youthful cheekbones and provide a nice facial contour, but it will also provide some lift to help with smile lines, turned down corners of the mouth and help improve jowling.

How long do I have to wait to get a facial after an injectable treatment?

Two weeks

I am afraid to get Botox because I heard it can drop my eyebrows. Is that true?

When injected correctly, wrinkle relaxers actually can provide a very nice eyebrow lift. If you go to an inexperienced injector who doesn’t understand your muscle anatomy, you could be left feeling heavy or like your eyebrows appear lower, but careful placement and appropriate dosing will actually give your brows a nice lift.

When should I start wrinkle relaxers?

Now! I recommend starting wrinkle relaxers before you even have wrinkles to prevent them from even starting (aka “Baby Botox”)

How long before an event should I schedule my appointment?

Four weeks prior to any important event is ideal, but I recommend no later than two weeks prior to an event just in case you have any bruising and to give the product time to settle in.

Can you do anything to make my hands look better because I feel like they age me?

Yes, putting filler in your hands will help smooth lines/wrinkles, make the skin appear smooth and more youthful, and will also hide the appearance of veins.

How old do I have to be to get lip injections?

21

Can I use Retin-A after I get an injectable treatment?

Yes, I recommend waiting 3 days after treatment before resuming Retin-A.

How long does it take for a wrinkle relaxer to kick in?

Most people will see results in 2-10 days.
